Xmas Spirit

If there is one thing that autism has taught me, it’s that joy often comes in the smallest, most unexpected ways.

After putting up the Christmas decorations this year, Sawyer announced that he would love for his engines to have Christmas hats. And although I can’t indulge all of his Thomas-related requests (of which there are many), this was one that would cost next to nothing, and was a a reasonable request.

Two days later, 50 tiny Christmas hats arrived in the post (thank you, eBay!) I had not anticipated the immense joy that could be reached from a few cheap pieces of fabric, but it made his day – and I know he will remember it for many years to come.

It’s the simple things 🎅
